The Amtrak Wilmington Shops project involved new construction, upgrades, and renovations to multiple facilities at their Wilmington Service Facility. Construction was focused around the construction of the ACS-64 Locomotive Test & Diagnostic Center, which features an inspection pit, locomotive commissioning facility, covered staging area, and office space. Other phases of the project included the conversion of the central steam plant to a distributed individual gas fired heating systems in multiple buildings at the Vandever Avenue site as well as the construction of a Pole Barn to relocate staff from Car Shop 1.
