Bancroft Construction Hosts First-Ever Charitable Golf Outing, Raising $50,000 for Exceptional Care for Children

Wilmington, DE – September 15, 2025 – Bancroft Construction proudly hosted its first-ever Charitable Golf Outing at the prestigious DuPont Country Club, bringing together 112 players for a day of camaraderie, community, and giving back.

The event, which sold out nearly all sponsorship opportunities, raised an impressive $50,000 in support of Exceptional Care for Children (ECC), Delaware’s first and only pediatric skilled nursing facility. The outing marked a signature moment in Bancroft’s 50th anniversary celebration, honoring both its legacy of service and the trade partners who play such a vital role in its success.

Celebrating Partnership and Purpose

“When I think about a day like this, the word that comes to mind is partnership,” said Greg Sawka, Bancroft’s President and CEO. “Many of us are independent contractors, but none of us do it alone. That’s why we’re here – to celebrate partnership. This group represents Exceptional Care for Children and the important work they do. We are truly proud they could be the benefactor.”

As the General Contractor for ECC’s Bridge Unit Addition Project, Bancroft is helping deliver a transformative three-story, 38,000-square-foot expansion. The project will add 23 patient rooms, expanded nursing quarters, classrooms, activity spaces, and a therapeutic rooftop garden designed to foster healing and relaxation.

A Day on the Course

Guests enjoyed a full day of golf on DuPont Country Club’s championship course, complete with on-course grill stations, raffles, contests, and networking. The strong turnout and enthusiasm from both participants and sponsors have inspired Bancroft to make the Charitable Golf Outing an annual tradition.
