We completed the Phase 3 renovation of Rowan University’s nearly century-old Bunce Hall, transforming the historic 1922 building into a modern space for university leadership, all while keeping it occupied and operational. The project involved restoring four multi-story stairwells, managing unexpected asbestos abatement, adapting to design changes like welded door frames and switching from a drop to hard ceiling, and coordinating around major campus events, including commencement week. Bancroft navigated complex logistics, maintained strict quality control, and preserved critical environmental conditions to protect warranties. Collaboration with Rowan’s team ensured safe utility shutdowns, crane picks, and alignment with future project phases. Despite unforeseen challenges, the renovation was delivered on time and within budget, successfully blending historic preservation with modern upgrades.
