The Terrace Re-Adaptation Project was a 6-month endeavor that required strategic renovations while working on an occupied campus at Longwood Gardens. The project involved demolishing specific areas within the serving and dining space, removing the existing brew hut on the outdoor terrace, and constructing a modern 1,564 SF concession building with nine restrooms, a custodial closet, and a mechanical/electrical room. Bancroft prioritized safety and minimal disruption to ongoing operations, ensuring visitors could continue to enjoy the gardens throughout construction. While upholding Longwood Gardens’ mission of conservation, Bancroft also took measures to safeguard the surrounding forest area. New hardscaping and landscaping were seamlessly integrated around the concession building to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal.
