The new Delaware
State Police Troop 2 includes - but is not limited to - 11 holding
cells for short term use, a bullet proof reception area, a 7,000
square foot maintenance department, a 2,600 square foot community
room, two fingerprinting areas, administrative areas, and interviewing
rooms. The facility is equipped with electrochromatic glass, closed
circuit cameras, and lots of nifty gadgets and electronics to
ensure safety and expediency. One of the fingerprinting areas
will be located near the receptionist desk so that members of
the community can have themselves and their children fingerprinted
as a community service. There is also a Community Room that will
be open to the public for training and schooling programs.
The success
of this project is attributed to a disciplined approach by Bancroft's
Project Team, which focused on the development of clear roles
and responsibilities, development of a master schedule with early-on
input from subcontractors, weekly subcontractor meetings, weekly
safety audits, and bi-weekly project status reviews with the Owner
and Architect. Even though this was a competitively bid job, fostering
a spirit of partnership among all members of the Team remained
a priority for Bancroft. The quality of these relationships was
evident in the commitment to all project goals that the subcontractors
displayed throughout the project life cycle and in Troop 2's high
level of satisfaction with their new facility. |
