The
gymnasium features ground faced masonry bearing walls with a unique
exposed steel truss roof structure. A hardwood gymnasium floor and
adjustable/retractable basketball backstops provide a complete athletic
arena. It was designed to accommodate multiple functions and includes
movable wall panels that open to a panoramic view of the surrounding
countryside. A new skylight system was installed throughout the
classroom areas to provide natural light and a feeling of spaciousness.
Construction included a new music and computer room, an expanded
library with reading pit, and renovation of third floor administrative
offices, the first floor assembly room, and approximately fifteen
classrooms. Renovated areas were merged seamlessly as shown in the
inset photo above. Staff and students occupied the school throughout
the construction process. |
