To manage
the renovation and new construction of the former State of Delaware
Psychiatric Patient Facility through phased construction.
To provide
seamless integration - both structurally and aesthetically - between
the old and new structure.
Extensive
unknown site conditions, hazardous materials removal, complicated
installation requirements for the mechanical and electrical systems,
and limited subcontractor continuity between construction phases
challenged nearly every aspect of this project. Through innovative
and creative construction techniques, frequent status and organizational
meetings with the Project Team and subcontractors, and a "whatever
it takes" attitude, Bancroft delivered the building according to
all project objectives. Bill Davis, then the Program Manager for
Delaware's Division of Facilities and Management, identified Bancroft's
tenacity and construction management skills as the key factors for
the ultimate success of the project.
