Project Goals
To integrate
two separate research facilities through the construction of new
office and research space between the existing buildings.
The
Lead Discovery facility was initiated to increase the number of
research compound candidates for DuPont's agricultural business.
The project required the seamless integration of two additions within
an existing facility while enabling normal operations to continue
throughout construction. The additions consisted of a collaborative
office space, a large bank of Growth Chambers, an automatic retrieval
and storage system, and processing laboratories with high tech equipment.
In addition to preserving the architectural character of the existing
building, sensitive project phasing and consideration of adjoining
operations brought the project to a successful conclusion that met
critical budget and schedule objectives.
