Project Goals
- To perform
major renovations within an operating Pharmaceutical Research &
Development Facility while adhering to a strict schedule and without
any impact to concurrent R&D activities directly adjacent, above,
and below the areas to be renovated.
- To enable
operations within the facility to continue without sacrificing Good
Manufacturing Practices.
|
Bancroft
completed two phases of intense renovations which included structural,
architectural, electrical, mechanical, process, and HVAC disciplines.
To minimize downtime to research operations, the project required
that the physical renovations on one phase of the project be completed
within a 19 week time window necessitating a 24 hour per day, 7
day per week construction operation. During the final design process
- but before bidding - Bancroft created a network schedule that
detailed every aspect of the work to be performed. Subcontracts
were bid, awarded, and performed based on this schedule. Bancroft,
the design professionals, and the subcontractors performed the shop
drawing submittal and review process as a composite team to ensure
that all components and equipment were accurately purchased, fabricated,
and received prior to the renovation. Total renovation was completed
on schedule and within budget.
