The scope of the project included the construction of two new state-of-the-art buildings – an isolation/colic barn and a chemical digestion facility. Both buildings were constructed with low-maintenance, durable materials including masonry, concrete and epoxy finishes as well as state-of-the-art electrical and mechanical systems. The 18,540 SF isolation/colic barn has two wings, one with ante-chambers dedicated to isolation cases, which provides added bio-security for the treatment of infectious disease and one dedicated to colic cases, which provides specialized treatment of horses with a variety of high-risk abdominal conditions.
